That's a new one..!
Wow.. I nearly understood some of that..Injector lamp flashing on deceleration or coming out of cruise control is a quantity servo fault. Feedback wiper losing contact with pot. New injection pump imminent.
You will be fine, you have doozle too
If you read on here you will see. Bagshot has spent years on here rebuilding his DSE to high standard until I joined and pointed out he had a wonky headlight wiper. At that point he lost his s**t, buys a V8 and sells the doozle Or atleast that's what he told his Mrs - he actually still has the two

To OP since your new il give you the lay of the land.
- everybody will try to help with their limited knowledge (opinions). If someone like Wammers gives you advice - take it, ignore everything else and just do it - it will work.
- banter is the norm don't take it to heart (especially in AG) advice is advise - don't get ****y if it's not what you want to hear.
I once saw a guy incorrectly advising to smear coppaslip all over the brake pad contact area When told to shut the FU (by senior staff) due to the potential deadly consequences he took it personal and retaliated nastily. Gone
- if you find something out or something keeps you up at night wondering P38's - share it , we are all here to help eachother
Quick update....
Home much later than hoped, so already dark by time I popped out to have a look. Definitely air in diesel. Bled as best I could. Then just cranked it enlessley and pumped pedal.......tried.....repeat sequence few times and away it went! Runs nice when going.
But definitely a diesel leak some where, hence letting air in, as few drips under neath. Will have through go over it in day light later in week.
But for now there is hope, haha. Thanks to all for your help. And Wammers, I will ditch the after market pump and sort the lift pump asap.
Cheers.
+1 I replaced the two flexible brake pipes on mine whilst I had the tank off. Part number ANR5916, that's for a 1998 MYFavourite place to leak is the leak[y] off pipes. Don't use the cheap stuff to replace or you'll be doing it every six months. Injector #4 has been known to leak too - had to replace mine last year because it sprang a leak.
Yours is a later model with the brake pipes going behind the tank. If you're keeping her then drop the tank to do the pump and check the brake pipes when you're doing so. They're a bit notorious for going behind there. I think it traps the moisture and crap.
