Had the M.D. front top and bottom ball joints done at local garage. Ever since the large clip that holds the cv rubber boot on keeps popping off. Any ideas?

Took it back once already - could they have incorrectly fitted the cv joint itself?

Not really. But they would need to remove the drive shaft to do the ball joints. CV and drive shaft come out and go back as one unit. Unless they have been heavy handed hard to see how they have damaged CV boot clip. But if it didn't come off easily before they worked on it it should not come off easily now.

Took wheel off to get a closer look - the clip has in fact broken. Cable tie for now will have to do.

You can get a replacement clip from your local motor factors for a few quid. They come apart and go round then just pinch up but make sure you pack it with grease because some is almost certainly all over the place by now.

Big strong cable tie and use pair of pliers to pull it uber tight whilst pushing on the little plastic block it feeds through hard with a flat screwdriver and it'll probably hold. The proper stainless steel bands can be hard work to get sufficiently tight without the proper tools.
