Hi All,

Just got my P38 back on the road (wow, that was an expensive MOT!), and one particular niggle is confronting me again.

When my lpg kit was installed, the installer put the LPG ECU in the battery bay, meaning he had to fit a smaller battery in order to accommodate it. This has the fairly obvious immediate problem of reduced capacity so I would like to relocate it if possible.

I was trying to think of a better place to put it, but there isn't a whole lot of free space under the bonnet!

Where are your LPG ECUs located?

Mine is next to the battery in the bay and I still have room for the 1000CCA battery people on here recommend.

Really? Is your ECU particularly small? I might have to take another look, but I was certain the standard battery won't fit in my bay now.

Think I'd better have another look at mine. As I recall, mine is to the left of the battery bolted to the wing in the battery compartment itself, compromising the size of the compartment.

I think the people(me included)with the ecu behind the battery have the "thor"setup whereas you appear to have the "gems" setup,ie pre 99

I stuck mine with velco to the ABS ECU under the dash on the passengers side.

I thought it'd last longer inside the car where it's warm and dry….
