seriously ****ed by what I found but can't do much about it as it was payed for by the last owner. I have recipts and can tell you the garage tha mot'd and repaired it! only done almost two years ago.
I've already done the cills and front mounts so just this to sort and mot here we come......

Ouch! That work should be reported to the police it is that bad. Good luck and at least you have found the issues now before they get any worse.

cheers chaps! on the good side I didn't use my grinder at all to get the plates off so saved some money in cutting discs......w4nkers!
last big job to sort and then its only service items. I had thoughts of bobtails - pick-ups and as a stroke of genius I started to measure up my mk1 caddy to see if the shell would fit on!! but i'll reside to just replacing what's missing and use as-is.....

Oh dear, I thought this was gonna be a thread about the random bodges we have all found on our trucks but you got the shizzy end of the stick there my friend!!!

Although I thought I had it bad when I found a piece of broom handle holding the passenger side window up but seems not :screaming_bug_eye_f

i need some welding doing on my land rover soon and this is y im struggle to find some where to do it,i want it doin properly nd not end up with work like that

if you want a job done right, do it yourself
...if nothing else you have no one else to blame when it goes wrong.

caveat: sometimes it's nice to be able to blame someone else.
...when you're living in someone elses house, drinking their alcohol, you'll be glad you had a better lawyer than them.

The shame is: that if it was done even to a reasonable level all this extra work would be so unnecessary. Originally, it doesn't look to bad, but that creeping rust...

tacks on 2 corners of each plate then painted over with grey primer! most plates came off with little effort at all including that big plate at the front which wasn't even welded or painted! when the sills came off there was newspaper and filler at the bottoms of the door pillars so that was taken care of before anything else got done. i'll throw up some more pics when I go up unit next
