hi guys
I have just bought myself a 1998 Range Rover what has had its airbag suspension removed and replaced with springs, there is a orange light on the dashboard with a little line underneath it, very annoying....does anyone know how I can turn this light off please without removing the bulb obviously? :)

mornin'

if the coil conversion wa done properly the kit should have included a cable that you plug intoi the BeCM which fools it into thinking the air suspension is still there and working which turns off the light.

there are a few chaps on here that can supplpy the cable or there's always fleabay

hi thanks for your reply, my mate plugged in his BeCM unit and set everything back to default however the problem is still there, is there a certain cable i can buy?

hi, i have one of the leads you require brand new never used 40 delivered if its any use let me know

regards jim

That light is always on even with the correct air suspension, it shows the car is at normal height. Even with the lead which gets rid of the dash EAS fault message I'm pretty sure the light will stay on. If it's so annoying, just take the bulb out

get the lead from jimsnapon,it also comes with a sence of humour. Your mate plugged in his becm, well I dont think so.regards

a light with a line under it sounds like the selector lock button? is it to the right of the big switch with the up and down arrows? tried simply pressing it? tbh i've no idea about coil converted cars. i'd never do it, its a huge part of the rangie's comfort and refinement and if i'd wanted to drive a tratter i'da bought one.

Im guessing with that sort of reply you are the kind of guy who constantly talks to your car.

No i dont talk to it but i do swear at it alot lol
anyway are we talking about the eas light in the instrument cluster or the one on the eas switch?

Since the light means nothing, because the EAS is removed, why not disconnect the light?? Or modify it with a piece of black insulation tape artfully arranged to hide it from view?

Tis surely logical?? And if black insulation tape doesn`t match the interior some brown woody plastic could be stuck on, or if doing serious off.roading some really macho duck-tape would do a good job... and it`s waterproof for those deeper water crossings!

The light is there to remind you of how much better the suspension would be if coils were removed and air refitted. It shoud be two inches across and two million candle power and be really annoying just to prove the point.
