The river has gone down about 4 foot since Paul's lucky escape. Took about 4 hours to recover but well worth it. Result!!!

Never mind Land Rovers new hybrids, this is how to make your motor greener. On a serious note, mega thanks to Mark for bringing his recovery wagon. Mega thanks to my mates at Peak 4x4 Response for being an anchor for my vehicle and for all the cups of tea. :)

Some pics, not many 'cos there's only so many you can take. I stood the camera on a tripod to video most of the recovery, so videos to follow, but Youtubes taking an age!

The pics show the Disco as it was when we arrived. Hard to see but I was still it and doors locked, with the water about a foot or maybe less from the top of the CB aerial .. quite deep!

The barbed wire and nettles is where Dave and Steve dragged me out, the bank is actually about 5' vertical .. it would have been nigh on impossiblt to get out myself. Couple from the Ford, looking towards the Disco and showing how benign the ford is. When Dave drove through it was barely over his tyres/rims, and nowhere near even axle height!

Can't upload pics, getting a security token error .. I'll upload to botophuket and try that ..

now that its all squeeky clean after its prolonged wash i bet you cant wait to get it going again. Doesnt look to bad, hopefully the engine is ok. bit of wd40 in the electrics and spin it over with the glows out and crack on.

good result. and cant believe some scum c**t tried to have it away grrr

The last pic, the water and ford is very nice and sparkly today, when I went in the level was just below the footbridge .. we, obviously, had little idea of the nature of the ford, but it's all good now, and maybe we (ME!) can learn a little from this .. :)

did yu get yo wallet and camera n stuff?

Forgot about that, yeah, everything!

So pleased .. ;)

With any luck we can dry it out and at least get the two videos of it going down .. they might give a good idea of how quick it happened .. :)

Glad you got the old bus recovered , you were so lucky that your mates were there to pull you up from the water as that bank looks sheer ....it's amazing the power water has when in full spate .

Can't believe some miserable gits tried to pinch it ....they must have decided that bringing home a submerged disco was something that wouldn't be too easy to hide!
A decent hit with a leaf blower would get all that crap out if the engine bay in about 10 seconds flat;)
