today ie this eve.....

engine in time...what a complete tnuc!! but its in!!and no i not using wood as engine mounts Fett!!

and it fits perfect,even the engine mounts on engine line up with mounts on chassis!!

though...i do see bonnet power bulge...turbo may get in da way..or not?

yeah those wooden mounts look ****e :p lol

so if that didnt come out of a landy its pretty good the mounts line up- wonder that applies to all chevy small block petrol and diesel?

how was the gearbox mount?

at the fiddly stage adain..everything seems to take for ages to do...more time in working out how to make/fit etc than actually doing it..

ie engine mounts..ages..done

fit sod off rad into little gap..done..

work out why clutch not worky..done.

fit rear window inner rubber expander bits..,

fit rear quarter panels,discover tailgate has to be adjusted..etc...

lots done just dont look like it...

god..these fiddly bits take sooooooooooooooooooo long!!

ie removing bonnet pull bracket,painting and reinstalling...doing battery leads...

etc..

toying with the idea of 3 bucket seats in the rear...mini style classic ones..they might just fit..ie these

yes i know lose fold down facility..but for now..taking into account i have to make leather covers for mine anyway,which wont be done just yet..
 
They would look great. I was originally going to put 4 bucket seats in mine but don't know the laws with small children in them.

Would you put harnesses in or keep the standard seat belts?
 
it dont have rear belts..1971..
but i will be fitting some...so aftermarket

so now to make oil cooler lines..rad pipes...exhaust headers..turbo system..so by next weekend then...
 
this eve i carried on with wiring of engine bay..god it takes soo long now,but i intend to do this once,once only,so doing proper..all cables soldered and spiral boiund etc..not cheap,but...

in progress.....see you cant see the finished wires...

need a bloody glow plug..ac delco ac60g..cant find one yet in uk..feck!

have a lack of engine loom issue..see other post
 
found out whats going on...previous owner had attecked wiring loom ..engine harness plug missing vital wires..

so today been engine wiring again..maling plugs outa differnt ones,rewiring,striping old looms down to get correct colour cables etc...took hours,but now getting there..
takes so long as once done you wont even know that there are wires in engine bay..

twin alternators now done,starter done battery switching circuit done,oil water electrics done...still pressure and oil temp to wire in once oil cooler installed

security going in now along with central locking etc..embedded in car
then electric seats and sunroof to wire in with sod off relays and fuses...then 12v bus bar to install for future use..

pressed number plates and large bore clutch m/c turned up too
 
found a sourse for no longer available door locks..£4...kool..

oil cooler take off on block is tapered 3/8bsp..very handy,so oil cooler will be done soon..need some interesting sized rad pipes though...nothing one cant sort..

then onto turbo manifolds...

front springs..i have extra heavy duty +2 in and they on the floor..dont like spacers...so prehaps custom made??
 
range rovers!!

ask for 2 door and no longer listed..ask for 4 door (upto 84..same part different part number)and available genuine or pattern...
 
handy, I just got a new one coded for my new drivers door- yes I now have one without dents in the ally skin!
