Er, what do you mean 'it drives in diff lock'?

Yes you can remove the front prop & drive safely. On here it's called driving in 'mondo mode'.

Ha ha. Aye, an' always best ter leave yer handbrake on when carrying out the man-hoover an orl!

Yes it's supposed to be diff lock on when only one prop is fitted... dunt listen to Grippa, what he knows about permanent 4WD you could write on his forehead ;)

Is it? Told me then! What'd I know, I drives a fekin tratta!

Uvverwise... where does all the power go? Path of least resistance innit? I.e it goes where the front prop isn't and just spins the output shaft and flange on the front of the transfer box ;) Lock the centre diff and you get equal power to each output of the transfer box. QED innit :D

Ere, I've got traction control, if I had to remove a prop would I still be able to drive or would I be stuck?

some disco II's had the difflock mechanisim in the transfer case but no lever. if your's is one of these, you could engage it with a molewrench or something by getting underneath. you can check the ashcroft website to see if your transfer case number falls within the numbers that had them fitted. They also sell the conversion kit lever if you wanted to retrofit

If I retro fitted the lever to give Diff Lock (if my transfer box was the correct type) wouldn't that confuse the TC?

And where do I find the Transfer Case number?

You can activate/deactivate TC depending on the ignition switch status when you engage the Diff lock. you need to splice into a wire to the SLABS ecu to do this.

read the techinical specs at the bottom of the page: Ashcroft Transmissions

fookin expensive for a bit of cable and a new gearstick!

All that technical stuff kinda went over my head, but what I think they did was disable the TC, why would you want to do that? Diff Lock & TC has got to be a good thing right? would kinda be like having lockable diffs in yer axels
