Car has now been with dealer for two days, first it was the alternator £500 plus later fault still happening, so new battery, ok I appreciate the alternator and battery were 9yrs old so fair enough another £200.00. Got car back park it on the drive at 7pm, noticed at 9.30pm windows all steamed up again. As I opened the drivers door I definatley heard a fan of some description running then suddenly turn itself off.

Took it back to dealer who had the car all day and came back with... wait for it....The none standard 2010 lights upgrade I fiitted are the cause of the windows steaming up and the draining of the battery even when its parked up for the night...WTF.

I am now going to collect the car from them and never darken their doorstep again.
If you are are mobile RR spark, mechanic or know how to correct this please help.
I am in the Stockport SK8 area, I will supply bacon butties, make brews all day and pay a fair wage to get this sorted.

Thanks for looking.

hi john , i dont want to be negative or pedantic but i did make some good suggestions on your 1st listing having expierienced similar problems going to the main stealer and the charges and leading people up the garden path ?? as i suggested to put your location as local lads with good intentions and experience are all near you . maybe now being £700 out of pocket ???????????? and still not resolved then being a member on landy range you will take note of what the members suggest as this is for all our benefit and this is how i learnt by way of reading the posts and saving money and time ,i wish you well and hope you succeed in your target and enjoy the pleasures of owning one of the best motors on the planet,,yours truly and kind regards mozz smith

if it was'nt the alternator or battery did you ask for them back, so you can keep as spares.

there is a regulator that commonly went for blower JGO 000021 ,keeps fan on low when fails ,flattens battery overnight ,had the same fault with my mates

Hi Mozz,
Thanks for the advice.
I did contact several local specialists who could not look at the car for several days, which was unacceptable as I need it for work , both guys from the RAC agreed I did need a new alternator but possibly not a new battery, RR dealer has agree to refund the battery cost and refit the old battery if I wish.
Nobody from the forum offered to come out to the car, I did put my location as Cheshire SK8 area, and may still be in the same position if stealer does not resolve today. They also stated there would be no charges for today or yesterday if they dont resolve it, which I think after my initial upset is a fare offer.
Fingers crossed it will be sorted today. I will definately in the future find a reliable mechanic on the forum hopefully local to me who can respond quickly.
Thanks again
Kind Regards,
Jon

Alternator was definatley scrap after nine years of use, and they have offered to refund the battery cost and refit old one if I wish.
