If I recall they pre applied the thread locker in the 15p and onwards engines (Late 2002?) So never felt the need to check.. the worst part is I've had the sump off to clean and still forgot to check..

I have one ready and the sump gasket. When I eventually come to change the clutch I wiil go for it then.

Nope not checked mine on both my discos I will check mines when my new 2 post ramp comes :)

It's a bit of a gamble I suppose... you takes your chances by not checking it and hoping for the best, or you check it and find it's still where it was when the engine was built.

Its a gamble alright but after 255,000 miles im sure it would have came slack by now lol

Edit...…… fell off by noo !!

Done by the previous owner when he had the engine rebuilt - maybe that's why it needed rebuilding?

Yep, checked mine, was nice and tight.

There are a few reports of later TD5 engines haviing the oil pump bolt fail, a few have appeared on here .

Cheers

A year ago i changed the sump gasket but forgot to check the bolt.
For the next oil change i will order the bolt with new sump gasket and do.
