Hi all. My dear little D2 is marking its territory all the time with about an inch round mark everywhere I go. I have looked under, over and sideways but I can't find it. It drips down just behind the bulkhead. Anyone have any ideas where it could be coming from.

It maybe that the leak is further forward, but the motion of driving blows the residue rearward.

Very true. I just fitted a new cam shaft front seal which I thought may have sorted it as it was leaking bad from there. Sadly no joy, but it did stop another leak.
Seems worse since I've done my oil change last week. :(

My money is on the rocker cover gasket... the rocker cover has 13 bolts which sit in metal top hats which have rubber grommmets under them, it's these that provide the clamping pressure of the cover onto the gasket.

Replace the grommets and the gasket and the leak should stop.

There's an acoustic cover that sits behind the head, if you remove this (2 awkward to get to bolts at the back of the head), you can use a little mirror to check for oil weeping out of the gasket - it's most common for it to leak out the bottom of a black half moon bit which seals the back of the rocker shaft... clean off the back of the head and for a drive first before checking.

+1

The cam cover gasket has my vote. Either that or the half moon at the back end of the head.
Mine started to leak when I had an oil change done too.
The cam cover gasket is engine type specific, 10P or 15P, check the engine number to find out which you have. Replace the little rubber gaskets on the cam cover bolts. Apply some silicone gasket seal on the half moon before refitting it.

+1 for all of the above to check,

Fuel pressure regulator, rocker cover gasket, rear cam shaft seal, injector wiring harness leaking and being blown backwards.

Well done most of you. I'm 99% sure that It does look like it's leaking from the rocker cover above the fuel regulator. I have just done the injector seals and when refitting the rocker cover I fitted a new gasket. Maybe I didn't tighten it enough or maybe it's not seated properly. Does anyone know the torque settings for the r/cover bolts? I'll have a proper look at the weekend at let you know what I find.
Thanks everyone for your input. :D

I think, on the seals/collars on the inserts for the rocker cover bolts the brass coloured insert, when you tighten the bolts they will tighten up to the brass coloured insert/bottom out and only need nipping up, I.e. About 18 lbft which is about finger tight as they are only small bolts.

If you wash off the engine or spray a cleaner around the rocker cover it would be easier to identify where the leak is coming from.
