If you got the vehicle in a good deal then may be worth investing in a Nanocom? You WILL need it in the future

Come on chaps - keep up.
You can get an app for your phone with which you can get full MOT history for the last four years and this not only gives you the mileages but also the fail/advisory items also.
I have two - one for the above mentioned and another which gives you Road Tax and MOT.
Both are free to download and use. At any time. Like when your standing next to the vehicle your thinking of buying (or indeed before you leave the house).

gov.uk mot check site brings up last 10 years of mots, again with all the gory details of fails and advisories, basically since the system went all computerised

Is that a government app or one that points you at the government site in return for all the gory details in your phone?

Well, it has not been the happiest experience so far.
I did a full HPI check for the obvious and it came back clear. I checked the MOT history and it came up with a limited number of records only going back as far as 2014.

Found some initial issues that have given me great cause for concern.
  1. Engine serial # differs from logbook.
  2. Wiring to NSF headlamp wash/wipe torn out of wiring loom (she's had a prang at some point I fear).
  3. Cruise control inoperative due to perished hoses (replaced the perished bits) but the cruise just kept accelerating.
  4. Shortly after taking the car home back in July we had a major downpour the night before I was due to steal my wife's car for 2 weeks to park it at Harwich while I went touring in Holland on my trike. My mate came to stay at my place to break his journey up from Brighton. Thinking I would show him how lovely my new toy was I proudly opened the drivers door only to be greeted with a drivers footwell so full of water the carpets were soaking wet to the touch.
Called the dealer who agreed to come get it, and resolve the issues while I was away and have it all sorted for me when I got back.
Before he got to it the battery went flat (RF module) and the car thereafter was immobilised. He came to collect and couldn't do a thing with it (because the man he sent wouldn't listen, didn't have the EKA code and is an idiot).
They low-loader'ed it away late the next week. Many weeks pass with excuse after excuse for delays etc.

Have been given various stories as to the delays (bottom line of which appears to be that they could not get the thing watertight), cause of the water leak changed on a regular basis(pollen-filter gaskets etc.) but finally they bit the bullet and removed the trim to find that the windscreen has been incorrectly fitted and not properly bonded in making it possible for water to get it. New screen.
Finally got it back this Tuesday. Managed to upset it when trying out various standard features like "lazy-locking" and superlocking and it went into "Engine Immobilised" mode. Eeek!

Couldn't EKA it even though I have the code because the microswitches on the drivers door are gummed up (dried up grease I suspect).
Disconnected the battery, stuck keyfob 2 in the ignition barrel on position 2 and reconnected the battery. Started it. Immediate msg on console "press a fob key" did that and all is good.
Had a smashing chat with LZ member MOZZ (see above) and we went through his Re-Sync procedures but to not avail (thanks for all your time mate! :) )
However...... While keyfob 2 works it refuses to acknowledge Keyfob 1. I suspect it will be wanting Keyfob3 as the next key it will accept.
A bit scared to disconnect the battery again and pull the previous trick with Keyfob1 in the barrel in case I end up with no working keys that will un-lock the car at all.

So. Yes its a POS, yes I'm a dumb $h1t for buying it most likely.
But, it is cosmetically in perfect nick (see below).....
