just wanted to say that after replacing injector seals and wiring loom it is running much better and happily spinning the tyres (on not so grippy tarmac) on third if i apply too much gas :)

Pretty happy with my smoke-free (well almost) Alive remap, but I'm certainly not spinning any wheels on the road.

i did have another map before which was completely smoke free but I did not have enough boost on the lower rpm, so I was having difficulties with some off road situations, The TD5 inside guys are more experienced for offroad remapping so they know what is important for us :)

AFAIK td5inside are working with injector duration maps especially for defenders hence the smoke on D2 while AIive(and few others) evolved to AFR mapping which is the correct way.... with a td5inside map you really need a EGT gauge

That makes sense. As I'm a 90% on road kind of guy - green laning and overland rather than P&P, I want a map that gives me a balance of on road performance and fuel economy with some low down grunt occasionally, so an AFR tuned map makes sense and accounts for the relative lack of smoke.

this is very interesting. i honestly like the power but do not like the smoke and had asked the guy to tune it back a little because of the smoke... will have to check more about this.
