Probably best to get at least two different routes, scratchy and extreme, non-scratchy and vehicle friendly, maybe. relatively easy to cross-over at meeting points 'cos you have to criss-cross the Peaks to get to lanes anyway.

Good to see you wanting in DavidSally, your experience willl help a lot.

Can I suggest we have a 'leaders/helpers' meeting someplace soon? Be an idea to get it on a more concrete footing as early as possible I think. Could combine it with a laning recce .. ;) Fox House ??? Put a few beer monies back into their tills for using their carparks every time .. ;) :):)

It's all mostly well-drained, but obviously depends on conditions that day, or the days beforehand. There are some fords, but most aren't very deep or long .. they all have rocky beds so good and grippy. Well, as grippy as wet rock gets I guess .. ;)

That could work :p I'll still wear some neoprene socks though, theres more holes in the floor plates than the cheesegrater

Well I've a bit of an idea forming for a book, like a photo journal of laning trips, with stories, and opinions and illustrations ideas to help coexists with other lane users, one that can be presented to councils as a 'for' use of lanes, but that can also be sold and raise money for upkeep of lanes. Or why don't we start a charity, solely as a charity to look after the lanes we travel?

Like that idea ..

Not sure how we'd get charitable status, and what it entails, but certainly worth looking further into. I'll have a chat later today with a chap on the council who I know is coming to our Childrens Centre today 'cos they have an Ofsted inspection on!

Cool give me a sing out and we can chat about it ill do a spot of research when I get a spare five today because if we start it directed at one council, and it's successful then we can approach others! :D
