Yeah, just had a quick read-up! Looks feasible.

Off to work again now, but I'll see the chap later and have a further read-up whilst at work. ;)

It's not that simple I'm afraid - parents did a lot of work with their organisation- hoooge hurdles to leap through, accounts to be audited and certified by registered accountants and loads and loads of paperwork, have to have directors of board for charity and they take legal responsibility for all financial aspects of incoming monies - loads and loads of individual responsibility.:(

Lovin the idea though of the book though pops :)

At least air ambulance is seen as a service that benefits all in the dales and peaks - bobbles, locals and 4x4ers alike- its non contentious and has a very high profile and likes to do its own advertising in local press which we can then ( by association ) be part of - just a thought like.:)

Who ever is looking at campsites- remember we stayed an hour away from the end of the Chippie run trip- so it's not vital that it be right on our doorstep when a bigger and more appropraite one may be that little bit further afield

I may still look into something's that promotes laners in a good light doesn't have to be a charity just something that raises awareness so everyone can coexist, there was a very scathing program a few weeks ago which picked the worst people from both sides of the argument, it was badly portrayed on both parties

I think it's a great idea Pops- maybe have some bods who could perhaps focus on the publicity side of the meet- magazines, local press even local tv news stuff - with time and effort put into it we could make our prescence felt ( in a good way )

How about sending all the local counsellors a hand written invitation to join a vehicle as ballast so they can experience first hand what responsible green laning is all about before making decisions on the matter . - just a thought

Good idea, that's also the idea behind a stories book, bit of art always goes down well :D

Just throwing in a thought here , if it's a charity based ' do ' like the chip run , how about collecting for something that the locals will benefit from i.e is there a local Air ambulance or Peak rescue , something that walkers/riders/MTB ers / off roaders will benefit from , maybe a way of affirming that off roaders are not all ****s that rip up the countryside ..but responsible country loving folk who are prepared to put something back into the community...

....although i think some peeps named above , may well be ' care in the community ' ...:D:D

like poppys idea of charity esp. mountain rescue/air ambulance. :D

had a similar idea earlier ... at least if the local's think they may benefit where Government funding is being cut , then they'll be more likely to have a positive view on a social/recreational group of folks who maybe haven't had the best press lately .:)

Some great ideas coming through, which of you lot wants to sort the charity side of it out? How much should each donate etc...

Air ambulance or mountain rescue is most appealing :)

Smashing because I'm quite happy to help on charity side and have ideas for the photo journal too :D:D

Lensbaby has done several books and is now doing a 365 day photo journey yearbook , had a look the other day at a book she did on her trip to Southern Italy , fab , you can easily publish your own book , talk to her pops cos she's been there and done it ...

...and got the book..:D:D

Which is the least funded charity out of the two in that area, then go with that one:D
Then anyone game to help me look into starting a charity at a later stage can:)

maybe look into the just giving website to find a list of charities already collecting through them ..or find someone local who can co-ordinate with the Air Ambulance or peak rescue , they may have their own paypal acc for giving.

The book is mini Mandy's idea as part of her college course so going to let her have the Vito on that, if that's ok :)

I reckon that lens baby's help would be more than welcome though, my mum did a book for Tate modern so will pick her brains too :)

Definitely ... are you thinking of a charity actually affiliated with LZ or LZ as a charity in it's own right?

i only meant as a pointer for mini really - not for Lensbaby to do the book - they are in contact anyway via email , so hopefully mini's already getting some ideas..;):)

Well Craig, there are some fantastic ideas being put across by a lot of people all wishing to contribute to the trips success.
If the Chippie Run has been the inspiration for all this then I'm truly humbled :)

Yep that's about the type of place , doesn't say about campfires - in my opinion an absolute must - so that's something to enquire about. Having a huge fire at the ladies laning brings everyone together and the banter flows ..:D

Must remember to bring high viz and sunglasses! ;);)
