So who is actually negotiating with the campsite/landlord/ b& b owner for reduced rates ?

Also can they check beasty's big top could be errected - like a marquee but bigger for comunal cooking, drinking , sitting out of rain etc

I doubt accy'll have any issues with it, the benchmark has been set and foundations laid last weekend - now work together, keep the ball rolling and start building on those foundations ;):)

Shall we start a charity grew lane thread to sort out a new charity and charity you wanna do for this lane event? :D

I've rung the site the guy said to call back in an hour. Seemed ok with a LARGE group too :D got to be a good sign

I live an hour away but still camping its at least 50% of the weekend ;)

absolutely right - otherwise you only get to really meet the few bods in your group or for a brief bit a few others at the begining and end , which kind of makes it feel a bit like any other laning trip

It was mountain rescue and air ambulance wasn't it ?

sounds a bit self serving I know- but which charity would generate the most publicity - thereby including us in their fundraising publicity and thereby promoting responsible greenlaning with a nice generous side too

well mr CraigyB- either you decide or your meeting of the leaders decides or we phaff about for a bit til someone else decides - lol :p:D

Can any helpers/leaders make a meeting on sat 10th at fox house first weekend date I can make. Discuss potential routes, who's doing what etc

Yeah, no worries.

If we can bring maps, laptops, routes etc, we can all knock heads together and get a couple or more provisional routes together. I suspect we'll have to mix and match between routes we all already have, 'cos mine are a mix of extreme and nice ...

Had a chat with council bod.

Yes, we can set a charity up, and yes it is fairly easy, but as an on-going thing he reckons the paperwork and checks and balances that have to be put in would most likely be a bit of a blinder for whoever is named as a director or directors ... It apparently takes a lot more work and confers a lot more responsibility than most people (in his experience) can handle, hence why so many new and small charities fold quickly.

Still happy to go ahead if anyone really wants to, but I think it'd be easier to just collect funds and give to charity rather than becoming a charity in our own right!

I would certainly help and discuss further if anyone's interested ..
