Hey,

Sorry for the noob question, but is this a 200tdi engine?

Also should there be a fan + viscous hub on the front?

Thanks in advance

Not 100% about that. I think it might be a 300, but not certain. One of the Tdi bods will probably be along later.

It appears to have ancillaries from several models with it.

And it should have a fan and cowl, and I think a cover over the belt at the front.
Tdis of either variant run pretty cool, so people often take the fans off if they don't do towing or very heavy work.

A post in Introduce Yourself is always welcomed by the locals!

It's a 300tdi engine with odd bits attached. The air filter and associated pipe work isn't 300tdi neither is the expansion tank. I'm surprised the air filter box isn't melted as it's damm close to the turbo.
The servo looks like it's from a left-hooker which is also mirrored by the PAS reservoir, the fuel filter is in an SIII location. The heater indicates an early model element, possibly 200tdi maybe earlier (SIII again).
Yes there should be a fan and a cowl.

Blue bulkhead and green wing ... it's deffo a bitsa.

Is the LT77 gearbox right and down below fifth?

Mine is 100% left and up into reverse (next to 1st), what gearbox model is that should i be looking out for?

Thanks in advance.

The gearbox you have will be fine. Later boxes have longer bell housing so your engine will have to move.
Leave this alone all will be fine

Sweet, yeah plan is to full service everything first. It's not my daily drive so time will come for this project.

Another thing I can see missing is the washer bottle :(
