It's not a county if there's no windows in the back?
Those springs look rusty :( what's the rest of the chassis like?

Sweet, yeah plan is to full service everything first. It's not my daily drive so time will come for this project.

Another thing I can see missing is the washer bottle :(
Best plan with a Ninety. They are OK, but like regular fluid changes. The only thing really worth doing is to replace the original engine when it wears out, which has already been done on yours.
It would also be worth keeping an eye on the rust on the chassis and bulkhead, and treating and coating same where possible. At that age, most mild steel structures will be beginning to rust.

Haha yeah it's a weird one, picked it up last week - https://www.tandtmotors.co.uk/used-...5-tdi-county-3dr-east-ardsley-202112220741834

Are the gearboxes the same on the 300tdi vs 200tdi, curious to find out what the previous owners have done to it.

Thanks for all your comments btw
Pretty typical. Lot of silly bolt ons that you don't really need. As they are there, and working, I would leave them until they fail.
Personally, I would get rid of the snorkel, because I think they look silly. But if you like it, turn the top round, it will save you fuel, and stop so much water going down it. Likewise the winch, but if you want to keep that, make sure your electrics are safe enough to power it.

yeah looks a bit ‘polished for sale’

Yeah my plan is to keep the wading stuff, someone actually spent time to installing a full kit on it, I live quite rural so it's a plus with the lift etc also.

The winch is ****ed and i plan on having two high crank batteries with a split charger for the winch aux one.

The only part I never got was the audi tttrs seats.. but they're comfy after all lol

The snorkle is fine but I didn't see the rest of the wading stuff ?
Don't worry about a scond battery for the winch, just ensure the alternator is good and fit a quality 100AH type 019T (or larger, type 020) battery and use the winch with the engine running.

Best of all have fun in your Land Rover... Happy new Year

Looks to have had some welding to pass the MOT back in October so I'd suggest keeping an eye on the chassis.
Yeah i've gone over the chassis, can't see any rust it's pretty solid, first thing i did. Got right under there and been inspecting, no signs of welding either, only on the cat..

Hey,

Sorry for the noob question, but is this a 200tdi engine?

Also should there be a fan + viscous hub on the front?

Thanks in advance

That transplant is out of a disco,
The disco servo vacuum line is on the left the defender is on the right, but could be off a lhd as
said previously.
The air box is disco 1 300tdi, fuel filter housing mounted on the bulkhead again D1.
The water pump pipe has rubbed off the pully & been joined as they all do.
Change the plastic plug on the thermostat housing for a brass one as it most likely it will break
when you come to bleed the system after an antifreeze change.

Thats my 2 bobs worth, now I mostly talk pishh so im off....

Thanks for the reply, are the cam belts the same as all the other 300tdi's or do i need to check the engine code before ordering any kits.. any good places for aftermarket hoses?

Cam belts the same, but always good to check engine code. As for hoses look at Paddocks, John Craddock's etc but be aware that some may have been changed/modified to fit the 300.
