afternoon, I have a 3.9 efi v8 that has no spark for some reason. I parked it up couple months ago running sweet went to start it today and nothing. Checked if there’s a spark and had nothing out came the volt meter have power all the way to the distribution cap but after that nothing am I missing something as the distribution cap is fairly new!

Just because it's new doesn't mean it's any good. Is the carbon rod still intact in the centre? Is it touching the rotor arm? Check the rotor arm brass strip is intact and not loose. It could be the amplifier on the side of the dizzy has packed in.

I looked at the rotor arm and it hasn’t got any build up on it and everything seemed tight with nothin loose on it. I gave the points abit of a clean up at the same time.

Points? Shouldn't a 3.9 have an electronic dizzy? hence my amplifier statement. If it has points then check or change the condenser. Also iirc points dizzys on v8s had a ballast resistor, check that is connected correctly too.

Agreed, electronic on RV8's back to 1986, let alone a 3.9 efi. (from Oct '89) o_O
Unless of course the OP doesn't have a standard set-up.
