So I get inro the disco this afternoon tondrive it to the workshop to do some work on it (waste gate change)
As I'm pulling up I notice steam...great blwon radiator..only to discover a hose has split in half. No idea what it's called so hoping someone might know so I can order a spare as I can't drive home without it. Failing a replacement its getting taped up :s

Oh dear. Maybe this link will show you (I assume is a D2). You could use piece of pipe to connect two ends together plus a couple of hose clips.
But better still do a bit of preventive maintenance and check/replace the other hoses also.

cheers for the link, did a temp repair after finding the part and then went to local land rover parts to pick one up.,

Back to your blown radiator hose. We had the same problem with the top hose (the expensive one) blowing off a week after I had changed the rad (which also looked suspiciously blown). Cutting to the chase, the root cause was the expansion tank cap not releasing pressure when it should. If your coolant drops about 1/2" when you top it up, I would change the car for one from a LR Dealer. Since I did that the coolant hasn't budged in 6 months and being based in Oz, that coolant is working really hard.
