Bought my cheap train tickets to London From Lichfield £19 leave @ 6-30am. Like been back at work, now I am retired I dont get up until 8-30am. I have 2 phone numbers for car locksmiths who said just ring them when I get there and they will come and sort the keys out for me. I have checked them out on the internet and they both have a good reputation. So hopefully they can get it to start. If not the cheapest recovery firm want to charge me £450. I just dont have that at the moment. I am in the AA but I doubt if they would take the car home knowing I have just bought it without any keys. If it was not in this garage yard I could have phoned the AA ( after 20 years of no claims) and they would do the keys and take me home if need be.

Good luck with the keys....I would be surprised if they get it started...as you know, the P38 security system is a pig even when you have the keys and the EKA code!

Should not say this live on air as it wer/ But the small quarter window .with care can be removed from outside.takes time though.

Is that an unladen European P38 ? :D

Why don't you bung the seller a few notes to push it off the forecourt or round the corner, then call the AA saying that you have lost your keys. You are covered for any vehicle that you are driving "you may have lost them when returning to the company to ask them a question about the receipt and found the keys missing upon returning to the car."

When when I brought my landy, I taxed it before driving off. It broke down on the motorway after 50 miles. When I called the AA they got a bit shirty because there was no record of it being taxed, it was a weekend. Luckily I had proof of my taxing it and they eventually recovered it. So if you try to get it recovered, you might have a problem if it's not taxed.

As an ex AA recovery patrol it is not a good thing to try as if you are caught out your whole membership will be void and you could end up with a large call our bill.

I know an ex AA man who did rather well for himself hauling cars 'on the side' for mates in the trade etc.
Just saying....;)
