Spreading Joy & Harmony
I have no main or high beam on my 90...sidelights fine. The blue high beam light on the dash isn't showing either..it does however show when i 'flash' high beam, and that is the only time the headlights have any light!

Fuses fine...is the smart money on an earth issue or a faulty light stalk??

My money is on the light on/off stalk Storm which would be why flash works on the other stalk. I'd check the back of the switch inside your steering column for a disconnected wire first off.

Hard one to call Storm

Unusual to have neither left or right headlamps as separately fused and earthed.

The fact that both are out and high beam is out too makes me wonder about the side lamp/headlamp switch

That said, never dismiss earths with a Landy!

Hmm..been investigating and no joy yet...the wiring all looks fine, haven't got a damn multi-meter to test the current. I will add, the high beam has been out a week or so...but the blue light on the dash worked...now theres no main or high and the blue dashlight is also gone....

Looks like the steering wheel will be coming off in the morning to look at that end for stray wiring...

I have had the same problem. Mine had the old glass fuses in which where all fine and had continuity on my multi meter. I cleaned the ends of the fuses and the holders with a Stanley blade. That fixed it for me

Balls! Right, had the cowling off the steering column...all wires are where they should be and there is power coming in and out to the switch...however i now have no front lights at all, even the sidelights are now gone!!:mad: So the high beam went a week ago, the main beam yesterday and sidelights today!

The rear lights work...as does the flash high beam...so i'm stumped! I shall replace the short light switch on the steering column tomorrow...but i'm not sure thats going to help...i think i've got an earth problem..i really love hunting for them!!!!:mad::mad:

Could very well be in the steering column.bugger. could get a new harness and pull back through, should fix the problem. good luck

did you check the fuse panel for bad fuses?

Yeps...all fine...i'd like to think its just the switch, guess i'll find out tomorrow...would think fuses if the lights went one at a time, but both highbeam, both main and now both sidelights at same time points somewhere else i reckon.,..just don't know where..

Is there anyway to by pass the switch to see if they work. Make jumper wires to make the connections,to complete the circuit

Right...bypassed the switch..joined the wires and the lights are still not working at the front, only the rear. So, its not the switch...bugger..that would have been too easy!

Got to be earth...hasn't it???

Not so, check where the wire harness plugs into the head lites. Make sure connectors are clean spray with wd 40 or something like that on all your connectors, under the bonnet it can't hurt it's now a process of elimination.
Keep calm and carry on you will be victorious :D

did the problem start after going through water, or after rain?

Possibly...possibly is the best i can say re the main beam as i noticed it yesterday out laning after we'd driven thru water, whether it was b4 we'd gone thru or after i cant say..the sidelights however have gone today and its really sunny....

Hmm..this may be relevant...the right front indicator has been playing up...sometimes fine, other times not...was working fine til yesterday too, now its stopped.

Its not bulb or fuse..whilst both bulbs are in place the green dash indicator flashes really quick (sign of a fault obviously) if i remove rear bulb and try to indicate, there comes a buzzing from the dash and the green light doesn't flash...

Hmmm...

Ok You could of had a water short. water stopping the contacts in the connections. On boats when you back trailer in water and you don,t disconnect the wires from tow vehicle lites that are on can break from cold water, warm bulbs hot filliment in the bulbs can break. this could happen on side lites and back lites. not so on sealed beam lites.
