Gents, I need help with intermitant flashing indicators and where else to look for the fault.

So status is, indicator stalk in left or right position. I can here the relay clicking, but the dashboard light does not come on, neither do the car lights. Then sometimes the dashboard light comes on and so do the car lights. Some days it's all ok. Someday I get nothing.
Changed the indicator stalk. Same result.

Any ideas.

The car is 1986 with wipac leds all round. Led bulb in the dashboard bulb slot. I've looked at the wiring loom in the wings, but can't find anything.
Help !

Connections in the fuse box common issue, try cleaning them up. Old glass type?

u need a new led flasher relay! the tuneable type with the dial etc

leds do not drawn enough current for a bi-mettalic spring to work ( old school relay) they use a chip controlled circuit with tunable load balancing thus it will click but may not switch......or just need tuning hence the knob on the top

When it clicks does the dash turning light show?

Hi. When it clicks and works the dash light's up. But when its not working the relay clicks, but the dash does not light up.

I'm sure I have the wipac relay fitted already, need to check as it's been a while.

Sounds like the relay is at fault

You have to turn the knob till it flashes on the dash. It may have moved
