I know a lovely black 110 up for sale next month. Had a full rebuild 2 years ago by Ray at 4xfortyone - was originally ex-army 110, but not frontline vehicle so still had 4 doors. Disco 200TDi engine, drives sweet as a nut, but a surplus of Landies is forcing my mate to sell it (his wifes run-about at the mo, but she wants something smaller as no longer has to run the Toy Library service).

Only problem, it's in Yarksheer ;)

That int a problem, if he wants it collecting. I'll pick it up & drive it down fer him long as he pays fuel & me return fare.

Aw! Shucks! That's sooo nice of you to offer but I couldn't possibly put you to so much trouble!

Take5 - have sent you a PM

No trouble for me I have family in Cornwall so I could visit them while I was down there. My insurance covers me to drive anyother vehicle. And despite what might be said in banter on here I'm not going to run off with yer landy. I managed to deliver Sirus's Pikey wagon from Birmingham to Hartlepool without any mishaps.

Seriously, thanks redhand!

But have you ever heard the expression "Like a kid with a new toy"? I was thinking of the anticpation of the train journey up there and the slooooooow, meandering drive back through all those counties and shires, just me and my new Landy - could take a couple of days if I'm lucky!

What're the pros and cons of the Disco 200tdi against the 300tdi (which was the one I originally wanted)?

Disco 200TDi has same power output as Defender 300TDi (slightly tuned down the engines in the Def.), has an LT77 gearbox instead of R380, a little bit rougher round the edges, and you need a Steve Parker downpipe to mate the exhaust to the turbo - Defs have turbo on top, Discos have it on bottom.

Sorry folks, I have neglected you for a while but there has been much going on! Much discussion and a little 'jiggling' of finances and priorities...

This argument carried a great deal of weight!!!!!!

Anyhoo... there is some GOOD news and some BAD news!

The GOOD news - I CAN HAVE A LANDY, I CAN HAN HAVE A LANDY, I CAN HAVE A LANDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (We'll also keep the Focus for now... but who cares?)

The BAD news - 'my' Landy has been sold!

So now I'm on the hunt for another 110 (that I can afford). Wish me luck!
I was offered a 110 last year on an L plate for 2,500 - is that the kind of thing yer lookin for, coz if so the chap's still got it, d'ya want me to see if he's still up for sellin it??? S'nozl.

Hi Odenne.

At this point ALL help gratefully accepted, ALL 110s will be considered - at least you're not far away!

I'm not terribly mechanically-minded (if it can't be fixed by shouting, crying or brute strength and ignorance then it can't be fixed by me!)
Valerie is quite mechanically-minded but she won't be in it if it breaks!

I was originally looking at a 1999 model (I think) on the basis of 'the newer, the better' but if it's a good runner there's no harm in asking him.

Thanks.

Just had a thought....

I now realise what my dream LR would be;

110 300tdi 1999(ish)
totally reliable
full safari kit
modded to hold fishing rods and camping gear
runs on other people's litter
free!

Aw, Mum! Don't wanna wake up!
