Guess what? Somebody pays and it sure aint the insurance companies. Its loaded onto everyone's premiums. So the next time your insurance quote seems a bit strong you'll know one of the reasons why. But as you say "its not worth worrying about" unless you are 17 and trying to insure your motor which is already beyond most youngster's means.I take it you haven't got windscreen cover then or you wouldn't be asking?
When I need new windscreen (i've got through 3-heated ones in the past few years) I just go through my insurance (at £50 a time it's not worth worrying about).

So what you are saying is that even if you have windscreen cover (and I can't think of a policy that doesn't) you shouldn't use it???? The insurnace companies will love that!
I take it that you don't think people that take out roadside assistance on their policy should make use of it but instead run a separate policy with the AA or RAC as well? Likewise legal cover, pay for the cover but then pop down to see a solicitor at your own expense when you need legal assistance?
