Hi guys,
I'm new to this site and after reading many posts, I have found it extremely useful! Its nice to find a community of people wanting to help each other out Keep up the good work
I recently (June 2007) purchased a 2000 W reg 4.0 HSE with 76,000 on the clock in White Gold.
My wife and I took it through Europe on a 4,000+ mile round trip and I can honestly say that the trip went as smooth as can be. No major faults whatsoever.
I currently have a few niggling issues that make my car less than perfect and would appreciate some advice on how I can get the issues resolved without too much cost involved. I am very DIY competent and feel that with the right advice I can overcome most tasks.
Now to the issues:-
1) drivers blend motor needs replacing (blows cold air) but passenger is fine. It switches from screen to feet and face vents OK.
2) Coolant always seems to need topping up (up to 1 litre every month) The car is garaged and no signs of a wet floor.
3) On a few occassions I have found some slight dampness in the passengers footwell after using the car the next day. Linked to (2??)
4) A couple of bulbs have blown behind the clock, drivers heater control and AUTO dial (HEVAC Climate control installed)
5) Rear wipe works but wash doesn't. I can't find the water line in the panelling in the boot.
6) Spare tyre well is damp, sometimes has standing water in. Don't know if this is linked to (5)??
7) Rear quarter panel near the fuel filler cap requires a re-spray due to the other half driving through hot wet sticky tar in Europe and then my old man trying all sorts of wonderful things to try and remove it. He removed the tar but also the laquer!! - This issue is just a body shop job for a couple hundred quid.
Mechanically it is healthy, just the above points so I would greatly appreciate some help and advise in relation to the above mentioned.
Thank You in advance and I look forward to receiving your replies
