Hi all, I’ve found myself a new project Landy.
Having sold my 1992 Epsom green classic looking 200tdi 110CSW ...I’ve now picked up a 1997 Epsom Green classic looking 300tdi 110CSW...the likeness is uncanny!
1st off it drives fine with plenty of go. Steering is pretty good for a Defender though not as crisp as it’s predecessor.
My problem is that It is sat on BFG 265 75 16 AT rubber on Boost alloys. The turning circle is truly awful and the tyres are rubbing when turning. Full lock isn’t an option. The tyres aren’t rubbing on the arches but are rubbing the metal arm that braces the axle to the chassis (not sure of the correct name) The lock is pathetic and the noise is annoying
Can anyone tell me what is going on please and is there a simple fix?
This Defender is defiantly a little lower than my last. In truth though I don’t know if the 200tdi was standard or lifted a bit
The new project seems mechanically sound, the chassis has had work but is solid, same for the bulkhead. Someone’s treated it to a full width intercooler, tweaked fuel pump pin & stainless straight through pipe. It has had the EGR blanked off. It’s got a rally style light pod on the front that will be coming off if anyone likes that kinda thing. I’ll be looking for an A Bar or Bull Bar with 8” rounds to replace it and keep the classic 110 CSW lines
Shes almost identical to look at as my 200 only a little cosmetically challenged...the work starts now...UJs, paint job & under seal pending...
