4.o HSE petrol 2000.
Stoked to finally own 1 after so many years of wanting to have one , slightly obsessed with ranges. I do however have a steering issue which is letting the drive down badly which is a shame.
Basically you have to constantly almost correct the steering as she wallows , previous owner took off the air bags and fitted springs so I wondered if that could be the issue or could it be the steering box?
Help and advice would be appreciated.

could be power steering pump
have you checked the pipes and fittings for leaks?
and might sound silly but if you open resovier and give oil a sniff to see if it had burnt the oil then if it does smell burnt yor pump is on it way out

Tyre Presssures?

If on 18" rims, they are very susceptible to wondering about if the pressures are not on point...trouble is, the required pressures are very much vehicle specific...what works well with one P38 will not necessarily be right for another...so it is trial and error to find the best pressures.

Also, check for play in the ball joints, hub swivel pins and radius arm bushes....

Check for play in the steering box and on occasions, spring conversions can cause a wallowing ride.
 
Tracking most likely, both mine and my son's are tracked to toe out just a touch and they are fine on the road.
We've had all of our ball joints and steering bars replaced also. As said, a good going over before spending your money.
 
Radius arm bushes are a common culprit that causes these things to wander mine wandered like a drunk before I did them..

And as said tyre pressures 28 front and 38 rear.

I have booked her in for New tyres and to get the tracking done also as I think thats a good start , will post a thread if that works or not , again thank you.

Hopefully they won't just track it up without a quick once over. The amount of times I've seen cars tracked with duff bushes or ball joints and sent on.
