Dony buy on price or age, buy solely on condition, you are buying a land rover (by its very nature an old complicated car) so what the neighbours thinks does not matter, how hard it hits your wallet is what matters.
 
No parts are fairly cheap compared to many vehicles and due to lack of electronics (on earlier models) they're easier to work on in many ways,even a replacement engine can be had for hundreds rather than thousands of pounds. The most important thing in my opinion is the chassis and bulkhead and other structural components are sound and free of serious rust, there's a lot of vehicles that look the part but are rotten to the core, but there's many people on here far better to advise you than me, I'm a complete novice myself.


Okay that’s not too bad if they are fairly cheap. And to be honest if I could learn how to do it myself as well would save a lot of money
