Our son had a couple of small machines, but the reels of wire were expensive and the wire feed abysmal.
We ended buying a full-size Oerlikon 250A machine for £250.
Paid its cost many times over on Landy Series chassis repairs and bits and pieces on our display engine trolleys.
Best of all it takes 15kg reels of wire which are stupidly cheap compared with the 1kg reels.
We have four wire sizes that we use and the nozzles to suit.
Note that the bigger single-phase machines need more than a 13A socket to run, ours runs off a 32A socket in the workshop.
We use a full-size cylinder with it.
