Hi guys...
A few weeks ago I installed my new britpart led lights and tested them by using the hazards to make sure they all lit up and the did.
However, its been pointed out to me that they aren't working properly...
When I indicate left only the left indicators come on but when I indicate right, all indicators come on as if the hazards are on.
When I put the hazards on all lights come on as they should...

Any thoughtsuggestions? Thanks

There are a couple of reasons this can happen. As above, you need to fit the correct relay. If it still happens after that, you may need to either fit resistors in series with the LEDs or diodes in the dash tell tale circuit. If you remove the dash tell tale bulb it's likely this will stop the cross lighting, but you will need to do something else long term.

I fitted the supplied wipac relay to correct the flashed speed which worked properly.
I have just noticed that the dash indicator light isn't working... would that be the reason for this?

try wd40 in the hazard switch and work switch several times some times switches can get gummed up through lack of use and indicators work through hazard switch

No, but I'd take it out anyway, in case there's a short in the bulb. Worth cleaning up the hazard switch as suggested above - you have a partial short circuit somewhere, which is allowing a small amount of current to leak across the left/right indicator circuits.

Thanks... I'll try giving everything a good clean tomorrow

hey Guys,

Just a quick update, I've spent all weekend with an electrically minded friend, checking the connections and cleaning up the earths on every corner with no success. Then we tried swapping out my switches for his from his working defender and that still didnt solve the issues.

Having checked all the earths and switches... what can be causing this?
I've run out of ideas!

take the binacle off the dash. unscrew the block where the indicator bulb sits.

unplug the indicator bulb from behind the dash (should be a back housing at the back that just turns off)

screw the dash binnacle back in and your done :)

happened to be on my old landy. 100% will fix the issue.

only down side is you wont have the green indicator warning light on the dash. but i can live with that to have functioning LEDS ha!

the only way to fix this properly is to solder a resistor into the wiring behind the dash

any probs give me a shout

5 min fix

your welcome haha

ooohhhhhh interesting! i have a new flasher relay on the way courtesy of Wipac so if that doesnt work i'll pull out the bulb!
