Cheers for the replies. Think I'll get some sp ones. I've got series 2 door tops on my S3 for some reason. Are the window locks better on a series 3?
They push a bit of plastic up through a hole and that jams the window shut. Not brill to be honest and have the disadvantage of draining the water out of the channel into the cavity. Having said that, door tops should be viewed as temporary.

I find the moss in the channel does that quite well. :)

Flat 6 those are the the right ones. Paint the outside and spray waxoil or similar inside and they will last a good number of years.I would fit the series 2 type window locks.

Sorry Mush, completely missed your question..................

Yes. Those are the ones I fitted. I also got the new window channels from them but they looked like they had slept on them. Very badly rippled and took quite a bit of smoothing out before fitting them. I used black silicone to sink them in and made sure all the internal corners were sealed but the water still gets down the hole for the (3) lock. Also siliconed over the chrome spacers to finish off. A few weeks later the drivers sliding window caught on a screw head I haddnt buried enough and it shattered. Managed to get another one in by prizing out the top channel which went very well considering it was also sealed with silicone.

The last lot I got from paddocks were pretty ropey. the fixed light glass was fixed with a soft black non-setting mastic- which softens on heat (sunshine) and oozes out to make the glass shift towards the frame. then I have a draught as the rubber seal on the slider is now smaller than the gap... yes, I want RM door tops.

Wouldn't it be better to get the door tops & glass separately so you can paint them before fitting the glass so they take longer to rust?

Tried that; they rust inside the bottom section- even filled with wax oil. they are made so cheaply now and you cannot buy anything between cheapo paddocks to "Oh so dear" Rocky mountain....

Still a thin steel section at the bottom.... it rusts

Fitted the RM door tops to mine about 3-4 years back. Really pleased with them - solid, fit well and although pricey, I don't regret digging deep for them.

Anyone seen one of these, its fully welded steel very HD not skinned and galvanised
