Hello people I recently purchased a 1998 Discovery 300TDI auto to replace my BMW 323 estate. As I live on a farm at the top of a mountain I decided that the discovery was a much more suitable vehicle and when I get this thing to actually work properly I might be right
Anyhow here's the car please excuse the bad mobile phone photography as my proper camera broke.
When I first got her she was gutless and I mean really gutless. Dropping to 10mph and first gear on hills and wouldn't have had enough power to pull away on a slope. That had to be wrong so I did some investigations and discovered valve clearances you could drive a bus through. With those set correctly the car suddenly became quite nice to drive albeit still a bit too slow.
So she was treated to fresh filters and fluids and she started running quite nicely but I still wanted more power so now she no longer has an EGR valve or a CAT. Id love to say she is much better but she also before any modifications started being a pig to start. I'll start a thread elsewhere for that as im going to need some advice on it.
