Seeing more on the roads & the looks are growing on me. Bit too rounded

have you got the large lunch box attachement ?
Reminds me of the shock horror discovery 4 then 5, oh how we complained they didnt look the same. Now they are commonplace and very desirable n expensive

It's right up there with the Evoque. I'd love to be able to afford one, but I wouldn't want to own one.
He said a swore word on lz moderator.

Nope, the new Defs are all tinted windows, low profiles and driven by women round here. On trend are in Teslas and those awful Maserati SUVs

l like them in base spec with the steel wheels. l wouldn't say no to a 90 Commercial but it's way out of my reach price wise.

The new defender is really the new discovery, as the d5 is a bit embaressing much like the sport and the evoque.
I would hazard a guess the old ****ibox defender was also bloody expensive when it was new?

Saw a lovely 110 a few months back and had a quick gander, googled it and it was some sort of special model, 100k to you sir!

But maybe I am out of touch as newighbour was showing me his new to him clk63 black edition, again 100k.

I'm interested in your experience of it, not in the vehicle per se.... way, way too complex for us - perfectly happy with our D1's.... and, genuinely had far too many bad experiences of electronics.

:)

?????

Disco4 is just a very very mildly facelifted Disco3. Different light units and grill. But for all practical purposes looks 98% the same.

Yes I am, but not as a "Defender". The vehicle is fine, its the name that is wrong.

My above point exactly. :)

The new Pretender is a brilliant 'Discovery'
Defender is only a marketing term anyway. The original coil sprung vehicles were called Land Rover Nineties or One Tens.

At some stage, it seem to have dawned on somebody that the Rover company was long dead, and that most vehicles now had model names, like Shogun or Fourtrak. So they came up with the name Defender, presumably to appeal to military buyers.

Discoveries, we always joked, were called that when the Discovered they were being left behind by the Japanese! :D

Thanks. Have a 1989 F-plate Ninety on the drive right now. My first 'car' was a 1993 hard top 300Tdi Defender 90. :D

I quite liked my 89 Ninety. I had to Modify it a bit with a Detroit Locker and a Tru Trac LSD, and I had various sets of wheels and tyres to allow for different conditions. It was a 19j, but low mileage and in good nick, I found it fine round the farm.
My favourite wheels and tyres on the farm were standard steel wheels with 7.50R16 Fedima Maxima.
I only really used it as personal transport and to carry my tool boxes around, I had a 4wd tractor for heavy use.

I loved my fender on Denstone extra traction, great for what I needed it for. It was like a paddle steamer over wet clay. Horrible on the road and noisy but didn't do hardly any of that.
