Relative comfort... not luxury. I have a new lift kit, and im pretty sure this standard setup has seen better days
get the lift on matey and you paint it whatever and however you like its yr money dont be a sheep landys are an individual love/hate thing

how boring would it be if every landy looked the same;)

Few shots of the outriggers and the patchwork blanket that is the chassis :D

PS... Love it Wiltshire Landyman

I got a 15Kg reel of welding wire, 5 new tips, a full bottle of co2, new gas shroud. MAPP Torch with full bottle of mapp gas, 5 rods of durafix easyweld aluminium bonding alloy and about a metre of silver solder. bout 2m square of ally sheet, and same steel sheet. etc etc etc

Just need motivation, time and a good run at it!

Looks a very interesting project, would make a nice and unique vehicle with the different engine, the series doors etc. Personally I wouldn't lift it though its your canvas and I guess it depends what you want to use it for :)

Started the strip down of the disco today. Engine is in a few pieces cus someone on here (naming no names) asked for the injection pump and exhaust/turbo assy. If you are reading this... YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!

Disco is being scrapped off so im making life as easy as possible to get engine, suspension and axles off. Enjoy the carnage :)

TO DO LIST!

refit inlet plenum, exhaust and turbo manifold.

Refit injection pump, pipes, filter etc

Fix gaping hole cross member was hiding

Fit disco steering arms and damper

Wire engine in

Fix heater blower

Trim down rad mounts and get rad fitted

Change axles over to disco 24 splines plus everything involved

Change all out riggers for MIB Heavy duty variants

Fit Heavy duty rear qtr chassis supplied by MIB

hammerite the whole chassis and waxoil

If anyone thinks im missing anything. please tell me!

Are u swopping the axles both front and rear ? And reattach the defender axles on to the disco and then scrap it ?

Phew. I thought u were gonna scrap with axles. U got the right idea. Sell parts for those who does need it etc. one question how did u scrap it without wheels. Did u get a lorry with pickup ?

lol... eerrmmmmmm

9" grinder, reciprocating saw and a transit van

Dont worry mate, everything that could be recycled, has been

No Pictures for this update im afraid.

Turbo and inlet plenum are on and plumbed in with oil, vacuum and boost feeds.

Injection pump is fitted, injector pipes are on, new spill off feed sorted etc.

Cam belt is on and engine is timed up, timing cover, all pulleys and aux belt back on.

Next to do... sort out feed from fuel tank to lift pump. Re locate or fab a mount for the fuel filter. Engine sits far too forward and feed pipes are now too short.

Mod Rad mounts and fit rad. Dont wanna spray contents of sump all over the place

More update pics. Thanks to BigSi for taking time before work to get this done for me. Much appreciated and looking awesome

yer crossmember is now done and fitted mate, just got to decide what to do next? seatbox maybe.:)

Got the engine started today! Whoop whoop! My starter motor was knackered. Got a recon one on, works a charm, fired after a second in a ploom of smoke! Revs nicely and sounds great. Got a new none mouldy, atheist roof on too. Progress!!!!!! :)):)):))

Productive day today, not got a lot done on the motor per se, but re bushed all the suspension components, trailing arms, hockey sticks etc. Will make the axle changes a hell of a lot quicker. The list of things to do is getting shorter and shorter! And the jobs are getting easier and simpler. I feel a billing show debut coming up lads!!
