Hello All

I wonder if anybody can help me, I am in the process of taking off the cylinder head on my Rover TD4 (I know I am crazy),
Anyway what I need to know, is it possible for me to do the timing on my cylinder head without a td4 timing kit as I am trying to save money by not taking it to a garage,I have some experience on timing engines but none on this one.
Any help or advise would be most appreciated.

Thanks for advise most appreciated but is there any documentation on timing this engine again thanks.

Ok guys took off the head to do some work and put it back up got the tool to set back the timing everything looked good when setting back up the head and setting up the timing but it's not starting the engine is tumbling but will not start fuel pump is working because i'm getting fuel up to the injectors if i spray some quick start in the intake manifold it will start but cut off any suggestions thanks.

Cold be a few things then depending on its previous running condition and what you may of disturbed.
Is there ant smoke emitted from exhaust when cranking indicating that fuel is being injected?
any issues with crank sensor or its wiring?
adequate fuel pressure?

Thanks for the suggestions I went over the timing with a buddy and it was a bit off  so we re-timed it and got it started :) ,Also is there a way to manually reset the CPU again thanks.
