so before I sign off from here well other than looking in once in a while and to sell some stuff, I have just started to read some on a navara forum and spotted this so I thought I'd share the link as it sounds interesting ...

Lol - I have a D22 and a Freebie.
out of the two... my D22 will be going for sale soon. - with an engine that was fully reconditioned less than 7k miles ago.
Enjoy your Nav....

wish you all the best with your navara ,my mate has one and not long ago the engine blew sending bits everywhere apparently this can be common, he replaced the engine with an up rated one cost 3500 quid but now its a good motor .

Good luck with the D22. If you got a good one, you'll be happy. Hopefully you won't have got a bad one, or you'll wish you repaired the Freelander!! Don't, whatever you do, add acetone the the diesel, you'll trash the fuel pump due to the lubrication impairment of the acetone.
Good luck for the future.

Oh dear as a long time owner of a T2 and SVo user and bio maker I'm sure your engine will blow up even with out additives their known for it, good luck

hopefully it's a good one its had the big end bolts and shells done along with the oil feed sorted so it should be all ok had it on a ramp today, and she's ok, ready for an underseal and a couple of rear shocks when it goes for an mot, needs an egr blank also but all in all its a good one, not as defined as the freebie tho I have to say..

Hope it goes well for you TQC. It it does turn out you've jumped from frying pan to fire, you can always come back :)

Dont underseal it - use Waxoyl or better yet the Bilt Hamber equivalent. If you want a proper job, clean and paint the chassis first then wax it.
Underseal is lovely until it gets its first chip or crack and then it holds the moisture nice and tight against the metal underneath.
I cant speak for Navaras in particular but most 4x4 pickups suffer from chassis rot that makes a Defender look long-lasting.

I knew a guy who rebuilt his Nav from the ground up.... even had the chassis galvanised - looked brilliant underneath, he even fitted a lifting kit between the body and the chassis to show it off.... shame i never took any pictures.... he ended up selling to someone in scotland for an absolute mint.... (3-4k over the value at that time)
It had the 3.0D engine in it, as it was the Nissan HARDBODY imported version..... he did have money to burn tho'
But agreed with Dave (again - lol) Don't undersTeal it.... waxoyl it.
The Nav I have is very rusty, but not rotten - (yet anyway)
I have found though..... when I was looking for my Nav two years ago, the low mileage ones were rotten as a Pear.... the high mileage ones of the same age we immaculate....
