Did the disco 3 have a second Aircon unit as option?Rear aircon connection.
My car has air conditioning, but I don't have the rear heater control panel in the roofDid the disco 3 have a second Aircon unit as option?
Early discovery had an option of a second Aircon unit mounted in the roof for hot country's but I don't think it was an option in the disco 3 .My car has air conditioning, but I don't have the rear heater control panel in the roof
It's really bugging me as I'd love to find out and possibly retrofit what ever they are for , mines a late 2009 discovery 3 GS so maybe that has something to do with it.Early discovery had an option of a second Aircon unit mounted in the roof for hot country's but I don't think it was an option in the disco 3 .
It was a USA export option I think for the disco 2.It's really bugging me as I'd love to find out and possibly retrofit what ever they are for , mines a late 2009 discovery 3 GS so maybe that has something to do with it.
Early L319's (Discovery 3) had them as standard in HSE spec. for a very short period of time, after that, it was an option but not included in any specification or market. I specified in on both my Discovery 3's (to keep the dogs cool) and it was an either/or option in Discovery 4's - I don't think you could have the rear entertainment pack and rear aircon due to the weight, not usage of space.Early discovery had an option of a second Aircon unit mounted in the roof for hot country's but I don't think it was an option in the disco 3 .

Ir was an option on D2's but for most markets, my 2001 UK D2 has it fitted & the rear passengers (+ the dog in the 'boot' like it) . On D2's the rear A/C unit is behind the N/S boot liner. It was a USA export option I think for the disco 2.
Yep all D3 Metropolis rear ac as std, I have one, every one I have ever seen for sale has the rear a/c, it was one of my main reasons to buy it for the dog, and if anyone asks, I always tell people it is a HSE with all the bling.I'm not sure the Metropolis had rear AC as standard, it was basically a 'blinged-up HSE' from memory - and only 300 were manufactured.
I find that very interesting as mine is badged up as a GS model , but the one weird thing is my vin number is showing my vehicle as an ARMOURED vehicle, was that even a thing?Yep all D3 Metropolis rear ac as std, I have one, every one I have ever seen for sale has the rear a/c, it was one of my main reasons to buy it for the dog, and if anyone asks, I always tell people it is a HSE with all the bling.
I think I have the brochure somewhere, will try and find it.
Not all D3 badged up as Metropolis are actually Metropolis, seen a few over the years that were copies.
Surprisingly last time I looked 2/3rds of the original 300 were still on the road.
Yep sure was, see the D3forum where there is some info on them.I find that very interesting as mine is badged up as a GS model , but the one weird thing is my vin number is showing my vehicle as an ARMOURED vehicle, was that even a thing?
If you had a B6 armoured L319, you'd know it. I've driven a few, aside from the glass being much thicker and the rear seat fixed barrier into the boot being solid with a man hatch and small glass window, they don't really have much 'performance'...I find that very interesting as mine is badged up as a GS model , but the one weird thing is my vin number is showing my vehicle as an ARMOURED vehicle, was that even a thing?
