gonna do lots of pics and need lots of help! just order a engine stand off amazon for £38 (used) and the engine lift off Dr evil. im planning on putting a better cam in the engine and maybe looking into heads. heard mention of the petrol injectors being replaced with LPG injectors, gonna investigate that further but would still need to have a petrol system as reserve, had a disco that just did LPG which was no fun as always worrying if i could find fuel.
if funds allow want to mega squirt it and stainless exhaust.
Non engine side maybe a 2" body and suspension lift, going to replace all break and fuel lines and a new fuel pump.
gonna get started on the weekend, gotta wait as cant get the car on drive until neighbours have finished having there fence replaced.
Really looking forward to getting started :D!!!

you'll need some big tyres then ;) although why not fit 3.9 injectors as I think they're different from reading and then megasquirt it with a second hand kit :p ?

I have some 31" at the min, think i would like some 33" nothing bigger, i wanna mega squirt the lpg ;) i never really use the petrol as the tanks 35L and i got the lpg on it so may aswell use it

And so it begins :D

Finally! ;) my engine stand arrived today just gotta wait for the hoist to arrive from Dr evil. then we can really get going, planning to undo all the gear box bolts over the weekend so i can get cracking in the week.

need to clear the garage out so i have some work area, getting all excited look for all the bits i need. Defiantly want a uprated cam, hopefully the bores are okay don't want to have to get them re bored but i bet they will need it! Just have to find a good machine shop now

Ive done some research on these so let me know when you want some options

Thanks, will take you up on that! will get it all apart and see whats what and then decide what direction to head in , i cant see a reason not to put a better cam in while its all in little pieces

taken alternator off and few other bits n bobs

Drop the rear end of the box down, rest the back of the plenum in a piece of 4x2 against the bulkhead and get long extensions on top of the gearbox to get at the top 2 bolts

Engine will rest lying backwards on the wood very happily :)

when you get as far as the stand unless you want to srank it over with the starter with it on the stand take the flywheel off first as otherwise it will have to come back off the stand for that.

I have the same stand and I had to get some longer bolts to bolt it on too!

Yeah i need to get some longer bolts to, was considering just cutting the stands down?

Nice bit of rot on pass wheel arch may have to get that patched up :(

HI Ben,

The whole, might as well do this because its on a stand is a very slippery slope....

Moving stuck bolts - I have a meter long breaker bar that I use on really stubborn bolts. Amazing what a bit of leverage can do. Obviously you've got to be careful not to shear them off but to a certain extent if they do that they would have done it anyway and it would have taken you longer to find out the bad news! Oxy is obviously very good too and the combination has led to few bolts that are not prepared to yield!
