swearing and screaming about why your engines leaking? sorry, that's next week :p

so it sounds like you are newish to buying parts. ignore me if i'm wrong.

i find the best way is to get the part number, either parts book, or internet search or ask the oracle of part numbers.

then bung it into your fav supplier. mine atm are lrdirect and island4x4.

say it is LVB000260

so in island4x4 http://www.island-4x4.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=LVB000260&x=26&y=6

and lrdirect LVB000260 | Head Gasket - Td5 1.35Mm 3 Hole - Land Rover Part LVB000260

for headgaskets i'd buy good quality parts. either oe/oem payen or elring. i wouldn't be using britpart branded (oem britpart, fine.. usually has g on the end of the number)

also, (i've not worked on a td5) you can have mls and composite gaskets. mls is less forgiving.

and finally i think you want to replace the dowel on the td5 when you are at it. and isn't their two versions of the td5 head? early and late?

heres a few pics of the work under way

P38dseGAV not being funny, but take note of the comments above before you complete the job :)

It might be the first thread where something important and a PITA to do actually works with a S**tPart part.

You never know, it is a new year and all that.

it will probably work.. for a bit.. i'd prefer to pay an extra few quid to reduce the risk of it going when i'm out and about

it's also not healthy to reuse the old head bolts... IMO old bolts + sh*tpart gasket = .................. (fill the gap with a censored word;))

ah i see yes i have orderd a new chain tesioner do to it broke and a dowel amazingly the steel one is cheaper than the plastic

good news fitted a better gasket and fitted new chain tensioner guide and she now sits nice in the middle and whats even better i now have heating constant too im glad my head was fine it did have a plastic dowel tho that was in two half's also i don't think head was torqued down proper in first place well it is now
