Hi. Meet my Discovery 1. Bought last week from an independent trader. 148,000 on the clock. Sold with new clutch and strengthened arm, new cam belt, tensioner, and full (ish) service. It starts first and every time and drives great. Smooth gears, no knocking or odd sounds, even the AC works! I didnt think £1900 was a bad buy!
It had a good clean from me when I got it but today is the first day I have been able to get under it and have a good look and sort out of the inevitable Disocvery 1 quirks. Im fairly new to all this so please excuse any naivety in my methods and lack of knowledge.
Chassis is in good order, but wings and boot floor have some rust issues that where tackled today with the help and advice of a good friend / knowledge pot.
Today saw the following;
Some attention to the rust on front wings
Rust patches in boot repaired
Kurust to boot floor and / OS foot well
Boot floor given 1 coat of hammerite
Boot foam liner hanging out to dry as it came with complimentary moisture
Handbrake tightened
Attempt to replace faulty reverse light switch but couldnt quite get to the bloody thing
Forthcoming jobs include
Hammerite foot well
Source replacement boot foam or equilent.
Re attach OS corner bumper bracket
Sry out inside of headlight
Grease hinges
Attach a light bar to front bumper
Have taken a few snaps......
