my last defender 90 was a v8 was best thing i owned gave it death over the fields and motorcross tracks was ok till it started chuffing lol sold it £1200 was sat on drive doing nout gutted now tho

Disco's are good! Use an ELRING gasket when you sort it

when iv done gasket ect would it be worth me bypassing matrix pipes as i got no heaters and no thermo stat ..

You can just run a length of hose from the pipe next to rocker cover to the spigot on the back of the head if you want to bypass the matrix....and easily put the original pipes back if you want to sort the heater.

I'd put a stat in though if only to get engine up to temp quicker

ok will try that too thermo n gasket set soon to be fitted .. will it bleed up proply if bypass matrix pipes .......... the onley 2 engines iv had trouble with bleeding water system is 300tdi and now my 200tdi ..

Had my (non exsistant) matrix bypassed when I 1st fitted the 200 and had no bleed issues.....Series rad though, don't know how much difference that makes
