Well, I stripped the roof lining off, expecting to find broken sunroof drains and leaky seals, but alas there were none. No drains on my disco at all.

The leak was between the glass and the rubber it sits on.

So, I took the cheap cop out and gunked them up with silicone. I would never use them anyway, I'm not paying silly money for new rubbers.

Is it that drains were never installed for the 'dribble roof' in the disco 1, or that yours were removed sometime in the past? Anyway, that's a good looking car you got there, keep the updates coming.

I don't know to be honest? Everything to do with the sunroof could have been accessed without taking the headliner off. There was the plastic trim with blinds, a metal frame and the sunroof assembly. That's it. Both the same.

Well, after much inactivity, I cut more bits of the disco:

I'm now in a position to start cutting out and repairing rusty sections. Should be fun!

Thanks!

Does anyone have a link to where I can buy the flexible hose that goes between the long brake line from the front, and the T piece on the diff?

Grrr rotten fuel lines too!

Also, top of fuel pump is buggered, so I have had to buy a new one of those.

I now have no brake lines to the back end either. Fun times.

New fuel pump was fitted as the original had rotten connections.
New rear brake lines and flexis fitted.
New floor went in. (5mm aluminium durbar)
Rear body mounts plated.
Sill repaired.
New rear bumper.
Cut some bits off with the grinder.
And it passed its MOT! Woohoo!

What's happened to all the pictures?!

Anyhoo, after buying this truck, I finally got round to servicing it today. Spurred on by ridiculous fuel economy.

I changed the oil, plugs, leads, distributor cap, rotor arm, cleaned the hot wire, and ditched the nasty cone filter for a proper airbox.

It's running lovely now. Let's see if the mpg goes into double figures!

mine is riveted, ok my tester probably isnt that keen on failing my car, but also i dont have rear seats/seatbelts so maybe the pressure is off!

and yeah regards the fuel thing, i tend to drive like colin macrae when i can which probably doesnt help, it really is a ####ing dream on song that motor, but it sure is expensive that way.
