My Alarm went off at 5am this morning and I couldn't stop it making me exceptional popular with my Neighbours. I have a Manual P38 M reg. The Alarm went off and it's loud. I couldn't stop it. It didn't disable the Engine and allowed me to start it up no probs. I went to open the Bonnet and that made even louder then when I went to lift the bonnet it suddenly stopped. Any Ideas what the problem is and more importantly if it happens again how can I stop the noise quickly.

Did you actualy touch the bonnet when it stopped? Could be the "bonnet open" switch>
Known to be iffy and cause problems. Or I guess it could still be that anyways if you didn't.

:confused:Hi Margo,I have a97 p38 that had a tendancy to alarm at arkward times. The problem with mine on the dash stated[drivers side door open]I replaced the door lock mechanism with a second hand unit, and that sorted it.You need to let us know what fault is showing on the dash if possible.

Just put my hand on the bonnet when it stopped. There was no fault message. The bonnet is difficult to close I often need at least three goes at it. Before tried opening the Bonnet I took it for ride round the country lanes that stopped it last time but this time it didn't. Tried unlocking and locking the doors with fob that didn't help. When I was opening the bonnet my next plan was to disconnect the battery. I was doing all of this in my nightshirt much to the amusement of some of my prematurely woken up neighbours. My other half stayed in bed while all this was going on.
