If you go with Admiral on the multicar scheme they insure the cars for different times until they all line up on the same renewal date. Not that I am with them anymore, direct line was a lot cheaper.

never knew that james, thanks..
will wait for one to be renewal time - again...

Well Flux logged on today, searched the forums and logged off again.

Fanatic,

As I replied earlier in the thread we are continously working on behalf of ForgottenPoppy to resolve this, I am in correspondance with her via PM.

Thanks

Jordan

Jordan is in the house, are Flux going to offer some customer service?

Or is the OP going to be forced to go to the insurance ombudsman? (MHM and myself have high success rate in sorting things)

The consensus of opinion is that Flux can and should do more on a forum they sponsor.

?

I can assure you we are doing all we can do resolve issues. I obviously can't go in to depth on a public forum but the client knows that myself, along with our Customer Service team are already working hard to try and chase up claims handlers amongst others to try and get any issues resolved as quickly as possible.

Well Jordan, her message to me today doesn't give that impression, I think if you want to damage limit this then -some positive action over idle promises.

Failing that I have agreed to help the OP draft a complaint letter and get the ombudsman involved.

this is not good reading, especially as my renewal has arrived from Flux

any recommnedations from anyone, apart from the normal web comparison sites

I can see you personally are working hard to provide assurance but I see nothing of the sort from any of the other companies involved. And yes I realise the being the face of AF on this forum you are going to receive some flack for my predicament however you are being paid for your position, I'm just losing time, money and patience, and still driving a wonky vehicle.
This does not encourage me at all to sing anyone's praises at the present.
I told ULR they had a time scale to get it resolved, I will honour that chance and then I will be seeking advice to take matters further.
I'm sorry you are now in this position but not as sorry as I am for using AF for insurance.

AF have a duty of care to their clients. It would appear that your company fall short of this on several counts. You profess to be experts in 4x4 insurance, but cant even make a decision on what constitutes a reasonable repair cost.

Eventually I got my no claims reinstated, a letter from my then insurer saying I was resolved of all responsibility and my excess repaid. I then dropped the case against the police officer.

Surely the outcome of the claim had no relation to the poor handling of the situation by the police, i'm saddened that you dropped that case - you should have stuck with it!

Correct me if I am wrong but she is not claiming of AF she is claiming off the other parties insurance and they are the ones arguing the costs.

As I said if it was me I would now put in a claim on my own insurance (I assume she is Full Comp) and then let them claim back the cost.

As I stated early on. 3rd party admitted liability if I claim on my insurance it will affect insurance renewal costs on three vehicles which is again resulting in me being out of pocket by a considerably large amount as all are due for renewal before it'll be resolved. And there'll be no recouping those costs :(

I was with Admiral then left as they got to expensive and got fed up phoning them to get the premium reduced. Same with Direct Line. So I changed tact. I ended up going with NFU and they are slightly more expensive than insurance you can by over the t'interweb. The reason I moved was that phone calls became a thing of the past. Just walk into the shop, talked to the assistants, and everything sorted in under 5 minutes. Worth the extra pennies just for that service.

Poppy speak to your Insurance company. I was in this situation a couple of years ago and my insurers renewed with the NCB intact on the understanding that I would have to pay extra if the third parties liability couldn't be proved. In my case my car was hit while parked, the guy that hit it stopped. In your case they hit you up the arse which as someone else said is absolute.

Might be worth a go and I'm surprised your broker hasn't suggested this.

I had an accident in my Mercedes 2 years ago and fair play to Flux they sorted everything out in no time. The following day they took my 02 plate C Class Merc and dropped off a shiny brand new Audi A4 SLine for me to play with for a week, repaired my car to an excellent standard and even got us compensation off the arsehole that didn't think he needed to stop at a roundabout junction and just drove straight into the side of us. I think this time though I will be shopping around as Flux are quite expensive.

Maybe they can explain why the different protocol now.

It might be worth posting this on AF's facebook page as well. The more people that see how woefully inadequate they are the more chance of them actually stepping up to the plate and doing what they are being paid to do.

Interesting that I got an email selling extra insurance because they know you dont get the real value of a vehicle. Content is below, its for total write off, not repairs though

If your was written-off and you didn't get the payout you hoped for, what would you do?

You've worked hard to get the car you want, taken time to choose it, compared prices online and found your perfect vehicle for a great price. But if the worst should happen and it's declared a total loss (write off), and you don't get enough of a payout to replace it, you could be left looking for a replacement that doesn't feel quite as special, or look quite as nice parked outside your house.

That's where Total Loss Protection comes in - your car's true value can be protected from as little as £58.05.

Top up
While your vehicle's insurer will only pay out its current market value, Total Loss Protection cover will top this up by 25 per cent (up to a maximum of £10,000) to help you get a car every bit as desirable as the one you lost.

Transfer your cover
If you sell your vehicle, providing no claims have been made under the policy, you can transfer the cover to your new vehicle.

What is Total Loss Protection?
Total Loss Protection is designed to help bridge the gap between what you paid for your car and the insurance payout you receive if it is written off.

Why do I need it?
As soon as you drive your new car off the forecourt, it starts to lose value. Total Loss Protection helps to prevent a financial shortfall if your car is written off in an accident.
You may have outstanding finance bills to settle which may not be covered by your insurer's payout, and you certainly won't get back what you paid for it.
Our policy helps you to either pay off your outstanding loan or finance, or buy a replacement more in keeping with the car you drove off the forecourt.

What about modified or classic cars?
Modified or classic cars are often insured on an agreed value basis, however there may be some circumstances where agreed value is not available, such as a heavily modified car insured with no mileage restriction, or a classic vehicle that is kept on the road in certain parts of the country. For these people Total Loss Protection can be an invaluable top up to ensure they receive the true value of their vehicle in the event of a total loss claim.

How much will it cost?
The premium is based on your vehicle's car insurance policy premium, as follows:

Up to £500: £58.05
£501 to £1000: £94.83
£1001 to £1500: £146.94
£1501 to £2000*: £194.86
*Premiums up to £2000 only. Anything that exceeds this can not be covered.

nearly 60 quid to get an extra 500 quid,if your claim is successful i bet,or some such nonsense.:D

Bridge insurance is used for cars on finance,in the event of total loss of the finance is paid.

I agree the £60 for £500 looks expensive and not good value.

I agree that Flux seem slow in pulling their finger out on a bit of customer service and goodwill.

Not knowing how reliant lz is on sponsors it may be wise to back off a day or two-see what happens.

Good or bad the forum will be informed of outcome.
