Fitted my mud consle yesterday, i havent cut any of the dash away as im not putting any switches in the lower section yet...

But I have a couple of questions...

One of my Carling switches is an 'off-mom' switch for my heated windscreen, which I have put a red cover over. Now whilst the rest of the switches are switched on by pressing them down, this one switches on by pressing it up??? Is this correct?

And the badge I purchased from Mudstuff to fit in the oval space is puzzling me, I assumed it would be a sticky back affair, but it isnt. Why is it attached to this plastic tube? And I assume I need to drill two small holes for the clips to locate?

I think the thing attached to the badge is meant to hold it in place on the back of the vehicle, as I dont think anything sticky would be able to hold it in place while you are going along. Would seem like a lot of hassle to get it into your new dash. I would try and source a sticky back one off ebay.

The badge was one of the options available for the Mud Console, I wonder if they have sent me the wrong one?

Hmm, thats interesting. I looked up the part number and it's definitely meant to sit on the back of the vehicle.I would have though they would send a sticky back one seeing as its not going to be exposed to the elements. I would give them a call, if not, you've got some drilling to do! ;)

Just Googled the part No. Apparently its a RR Sport door trim badge.

My guess is you have to make it fit ???

A quick look on the Mud website, the mom switches do indeed seem to be up for on (see pics for the fog off/mom & wash/wipe switch), bit of a let down IMO, spoils the look of the whole thing.

Unless all Carling switches are supposed to be 'off' in the down position, and 'on' in the up position? Perhaps its me thats got it wrong?

I thought that carling switches pushed up to switch on. Have a look at their website, as I'm sure it's on there, something about working on the american system?
The oval badge I got from them was different. It was basically just flat backed and I superglued it on.

my badge was the same as that. I just made 2 holes for the tabs on the back of the badge to lock into.

Just thought id update something i have found on the badge side of things (bare with me im new!) upon reading the instruction manual for the console i found a section at the beginning which said to install any badge remove all plastic tabs on the back (leaving only a flat surface) and fit using adhesive or adhesive pad! Hope this helps a few people :)
