The MOT tester turned be away this morning because my wipers weren't parking (even though it's passed the last two MOTs like it!). So I've ordered the new motor, but have another query with regard to the reversing lights. Historically I know they weren't tested, but under the new MOT regulations, will they need to operate properly? Mine flicker on and off when I'm reversing.

As an aside, I've spoken to another MOT tester today, who confirmed that Diesel vehicles are not subject to a full cat emissions test, and so anyone with a de-cat front downpipe (on a diesel) shouldn't have a problem come MOT time.

Cheers,
Lew

my reverse lights flicker occasionally and it's usually to tell me that the switch has unscrewed to the point that its just making contact,2 min job mate.

Is it not just the park switch which is playing up? Much cheaper if it is.

mine deso to, knock it into reverse, it comes on, but when I start reversing, it goes off, so have to push the gear stick into position to keep light on.

Guess that means I need to replace the switch.......to the BusterBus Page!

Unfortunately the park switch is integral in the motor on the Discovery, unlike the defender where it can be replaced. So it's a new motor job unfortunately!!
