On a retest it is only the failed items they check? As my mot guy missed this o/s rear sill (specsavers?)

sorry couldn't get it all in yes it's that big!

The correct procedure is to do a partial re-test but if they notice anything else during the
re-test & it fails,You will need to have a new full mot & they will charge you again as only
1 retest is allowed.
You can if you wish complain to vosa if you think they used excessive force or non approved
mot check item ie a screwdriver to poke a hole in it should be finger or thumb pressure & the
small mot hammer & they can use the alloy handle to scrape away at the corrosion but NOT
knock the hell out it.

I think it is 10 working days. As it was their mistake I would push for a free retest, or at least go dutch.

I assume you also missed it on your pre-mot checks? Or did you really submit it for test knowing about that?
It is more likely that he failed to transfer that particular aspect from his written notes to the computer, rather than not see it at all.
Are the other fails likely to bring him into contact with this area during re-test?
You could, of course, just get it sorted before the re-test anyway. :)

Sorry I didn't realise it was 10 days, I've never had to do a retest. The sills are a structural part of the car, I wouldnt want to be in a collision with badly corroded sills.
