Having congratulated myself on fixing a 2 amigo's problem that has bugged me for months and checked all the usual culprits, my 110 went in for MOT and as the title suggests, it failed!
The MOT refusal cert identified track rod ends - fair enough they were sloppy. Also highlighted broken spring retaining clip on rear axle. However when replacing that they noticed (MOT Tester missed it) the top spring cup was paper thin on one side and was actually fractured.
This is an integral part of the chassis. Has anyone had to replace this bracket or fabricate and/or weld a new one?
Rest of chassis OK, rear member has been replaced some time ago.

Yes! That's the bit! My garage had phoned the local stealer and they said no such bit available. I will be on to it in the morning. Thanks:)

porbably not avaliable as a LR part, but plenty of makes out there, allmakes, britpart, bearmach im sure all do them.
the link was just the first I found, not necessarily the cheapest

That is the plan for the future. Bought it as a project, bodywork pretty tatty, but just keeps going as every day drive. Will keep it going until summer then perhaps a rebuild? :)

take it apart to a bare chassis and buy another galvo replacement, stop being silly...
