Should be a piece of **** to forge then as long as plod doesn't do an on line check:rolleyes:

The plod know whether vehicles is taxed, insured and who should be driving before they pull you. A beat officer can get this info in a few minutes over the radio. Really the certificate is not needed.

Yup so if they're following an untraceable person with no tax mot and insurance in an obviously dodgy motor they can ignore them (they won't turn up in court or pay a fine anyway) and they'll nick accountable Mrs Timkins from number 53 for a bust tail light instead. Kurching...

I have heard that a few less than honest sellers/dealers have taken to cutting the advisory section off the new MOT, so the new owner is not aware of any advisories.

'yes sir, VOSA have gone back to the old A5 size MOT certificate. It is in very good condition, passed its last MOT with not advisories'

those new red log books look like they were done by a 3 year old too

oh and zen , twil be you on the phone to me as I plug all the wires back in :p

mot man was holding head in hands...

talking of new regs,(and old existing ones)

ie if crack in screen in window wiper swing it a fail, yet if no windscreen it passes!

also no spare tyre it passes, flat spare it fails...has to check fuel cap for rubber now too...etc...

was i pointing a finger towards you? no! Glad you are a ex diesel mechanic ( not fitter) i assume your later remark of " In my experience there are many MOT testers who I would not pay in washers! was aimed towards me .... as i said about me doing mots for "another garage".. granted yes i do mot's i also blue print formula 1 race engine's , i am also master technician at my specialist were i have been for well over a decade now and iam also master diagnostic technician with with well over 50 qualifications in different diagnostic areas from the later classic range rovers to all the fibre optics on rr sports disco3/4 and the later ranger rovers. so as you can see i am a technical engineer ( not just a mot tester )

Glad to see that you still have your wits about you to pull me up on my grammar mistakes i am sure u ( or is it you? ) will find plenty in the above text.

for all those worring about the "new changes in the mot " i had a special notice through informing me of all the new changes just yesterday.... there are many but TYRE NOISE is NOT one of them...the ONLY new one for tyres is that if they state NOT FOR ROAD USE this is now a fail as it never used to be yest its illegal but WASN'T an mot fail
